Within the framework of the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT), meetings of the Working Groups dedicated to the effective implementation of the Treaty (WGETI) and its subgroups, universalization (WGTU), and transparency and reporting (WGTR) were convened on February 20 in Geneva.
The Arms Trade Treaty is a legal instrument that regulates the international trade of conventional weapons with the aim of reducing illicit trafficking and preventing their use in violation of human rights.
The Italian delegation to the Conference on Disarmament regularly participates in these meetings.
Some conclusions of the Working Groups will be considered at the 10th Conference of States Parties, which will take place in Geneva from August 19 to 23, 2024.
