The Arms Trade Treaty is a legal instrument that regulates the international trade of conventional weapons with the aim of reducing illicit trafficking and preventing their use in violation of human rights.
On this occasion, the Italian delegation to the Conference on Disarmament shared its national perspective on the effective Treaty’s implementation, transparency and reporting, and the importance of the work conducted by the Diversion Information Exchange Forum (DIEF).
The preliminary conclusions of the Informal Preparatory Meeting will be endorsed at CSP10, which will take place in Geneva on 19-23 August, 2024.
