Following the example of last year’s initiative, on the occasion of the 2026 High-Level Segment of the Conference on Disarmament, numerous delegations, including the Italian one, reaffirmed their countries’ full support for Ukraine, which for four years has been the target of a brutal and unjustified armed aggression by the Russian Federation.
During the intervention of the Russian delegate, many countries left their national seats vacant and gathered outside the chamber for a group photo in a show of support alongside the Ukrainian Ambassador.
With similar aims, the delegation of Norway delivered a statement condemning Russia’s actions in Ukraine, which was joined by more than forty countries, including Italy.
