During the address, Ambassador Bencini highlighted the main issues that the Disarmament Community is called upon to address. In particular, the need to overcome the deadlock that has persisted in the Conference on Disarmament for over 30 years was emphasized, along with the importance of reactivating negotiations on issues of greater and more urgent relevance to international peace and security.
