ITALY’S PARTICIPATION IN THE INFORMAL PREPARATORY MEETING TO THE ELEVENTH CONFERENCE OF STATES PARTIES TO THE ARMS TRADE TREATY (ATT)

The Arms Trade Treaty is a legal instrument that regulates the international trade in conventional weapons with the aim of reducing illicit trafficking and preventing their use in violation of human rights.

During the preparatory meeting to CSP11, the Italian delegation shared some reflections on the effective implementation of the Treaty, transparency and reporting, the role of industry in responsible arms transfers and the prevention of gender-based violence.

The preliminary conclusions of the preparatory meeting will be approved during CSP11, scheduled in Geneva from 20 to 25 August.
